Goldwater Scholarship - Timeline

september

Identification & pre-screening of qualified candidates
  • Faculty/staff recommend students to the Faculty Representative
  • The Faculty Representative sends out email to qualified recommended students with a request for information

october

Interviews of selected candidates
  • Announcement of nominees (up to four students)
  • Selection is made within a few days after the interview
  • Nominated students will then receive an application package and instructions by email.

november/december

Nominated students have time to:
  • Prepare application essays with their faculty research advisors
  • Acquire letters of recommendation and transcripts

january

Finalize application (mainly editing and revising of essay) with Faculty Representative.

Application is due to the RIT Goldwater Faculty Representative by the end of the month.

february

February 1st – application is due to the Goldwater Foundation
  • All application material is submitted by the Faculty Representative

march/april

Announcement of Goldwater Scholars for the following academic year
